TALENTED TEAM BEHIND PINEWOOD TELEVISION MOVES FORWARD AS “TWELVE TOWN”

The global television production company also announces a co-producing partnership with Jude Law & Ben Jackson’s Riff Raff Entertainment

Twelve Town, formerly known as Pinewood Television, which StoryFirst fully acquired from Pinewood-Shepperton Studios in September, today announced its presence in the global television marketplace, focusing on the development, production and financing of high-quality, original drama series.

Under the new name, UK based Twelve Town will take forward the growing reputation and build on the diverse international slate of Pinewood Television.

Led by Managing Director Helen Gregory and supported by Director of Co-Production Christian Wikander, Twelve Town will act as a co-producing partner for creators of UK and international television dramas looking for development and deficit financing.

In 18 months, the company has built an impressive pipeline of projects and established itself as a major player in scripted television drama. The Child in Time, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kelly Macdonald, was executive produced by Gregory and aired on BBC One in September to great acclaim, and is due for release on MASTERPIECE on PBS in the US next year.

The company has co-produced the second series of SVT’s Jordskott and the political thriller, Conspiracy of Silence which will premiere next year via Nordic streaming service, Viaplay.

Also announced, Twelve Town has joined forces with Riff Raff Entertainment, a UK and US - focused film and television production company led by actor/producer Jude Law (The Young Pope, Grand Budapest Hotel, Cold Mountain, Sherlock Holmes) and producer Ben Jackson (The Young Pope, Sleuth). The two companies will be working together to build on Riff Raff’s slate of exciting and ambitious drama projects.  Endeavor Content will handle sales.

On Twelve Town’s launch and the partnership with Riff Raff Entertainment, Helen Gregory commented, "Twelve Town is our new exciting identity and represents our ambition to develop and produce distinctive modern drama which has global appeal by putting creative talent at the heart of what we do. Our announcement today of the new partnership with Riff Raff reflects these goals. We offer development, creativity and finance at a time when British drama skills are in high demand in an ever-expanding market."

Principals Jude Law & Ben Jackson said: “Riff Raff are delighted to be in partnership with Twelve Town. This relationship will allow us to nurture our slate, further develop our work with writers and meet new creatives. To be able to share and evolve content in a collaborative environment is at the heart of what drives Riff Raff as a production company. We look forward to a successful partnership.”
